A pool heater fault can involve water flow, the heater or its controls. Use a qualified pool equipment specialist and the correct model manual. QWH's domestic water heater services do not establish pool or spa repair coverage.
Collect the model and fault details
Record the heater model, fuel or power type, error code and whether the circulation system is running as expected. Note recent pool service or changes to the settings. A flow related shutdown does not by itself prove a heat exchanger or gas valve has failed.
Keep safety controls working
Do not bridge a pressure switch, bypass a flow sensor or operate a leaking heater. If you smell gas or a carbon monoxide alarm sounds, leave the area and seek emergency help from a safe location.
Water chemistry and circulation are part of the diagnosis. A replacement heater should not be installed until the cause of an exchanger failure or repeated shutdown has been considered by the pool specialist.
Arrange the appropriate repair
Confirm the technician services the brand and can obtain its approved parts. Ask for the diagnosis, full repair scope and warranty in writing. A household tank repair price does not cover a pool equipment visit.
