Chlorine, chloramine and hard water

Select the media for the water supply and treatment goal. Chloramine treatment can require a different carbon configuration from ordinary chlorine treatment. Ask which treatment claims apply to the actual supplied system.

Carbon filtration does not remove hardness minerals in the same way as a salt softener. If reducing calcium and magnesium is the goal, compare the softener options. Drinking water RO is a separate point of use treatment.
