Tank water heaters

40, 50 and 75 gallon power vent water heaters

A power vent tank uses a fan to move combustion exhaust. Replacing one requires an approved vent arrangement and electrical connection for the selected model. A standard atmospheric tank is not an automatic substitute.

The vent system is part of the replacement

Take photos of the existing heater and vent route and record the model. The replacement's manual decides which vent material, fittings, equivalent length and clearances are permitted. Existing plastic venting is not automatically approved for a new model.

An operating fault may be in the fan, ignition or controls rather than the tank. Have it diagnosed before replacing the entire heater. A carbon monoxide alarm or signs of exhaust entering the room require stopping use and seeking qualified help.

Confirm the right equipment and the complete price before you decide.
